About
About Israel Local
A free guide to choosing where to live in Israel, and the front door to the Local city sites.
What this site is
Israel Local helps you choose a city. It compares 17 places where English speakers (and many French and Russian speakers) settle, using public sources, and then sends you to that city's own site for listings, guides and Shabbat times. National topics, like money and finding English-speaking professionals, are covered on our sister sites.
Who runs it
Israel Local and the city sites are built and run by Consult With Ari (Anywhere Reality Industries LLC), a small web design and SEO studio.
Where the facts come from
- Nefesh B'Nefesh ((opens in a new tab))Community guides for each city: English-speaking population, olim numbers, services
- Wikipedia ((opens in a new tab))City articles in English, Hebrew, French and Russian: history, population, religious mix, transport
- Israel Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) ((opens in a new tab))Average monthly rent by city and apartment size (Table 4.9, Apr-Jun 2026)

- Easy Aliyah ((opens in a new tab))Two rent estimates (Ra'anana, Kiryat Gat) where CBS has no figure, marked low confidence

About the scores
No source counts English, French or Russian speakers city by city. The 1-5 community scores, and the family and quiet scores, are judgment calls from the wording of Nefesh B'Nefesh guides and Wikipedia; each city page shows the evidence. A blank means no source we opened mentioned it, not that the community is small. The religious-mix label is our short reading of the source text, which is shown next to it.

Listing and linking policy
- No city, business or organization pays to appear here, and nothing is ranked for money.
- No one has to link back to us to be included.
- Every city is compared by the same rules, and each one links to its own Local site because that is where the local details live.
- Corrections are welcome. Send the page and a source, and we'll check it.
